Giovanna Prandini has been reconfirmed as president of Ascovilo, the association representing the protection consortia of Lombard wines DOCG, DOC, and IGT. The announcement was made during the association’s assembly, where Mario Danesi and Corrado Cattani were also appointed as vice presidents. Prandini, a Brescia-based agricultural entrepreneur, emphasized the importance of collaboration among the 13 consortia to strengthen the identity and competitiveness of Lombard wines both nationally and internationally.
The regional councilor for Agriculture, Alessandro Beduschi, expressed his support for Prandini’s reappointment, highlighting how her experience could benefit the Lombard wine sector. Future initiatives are expected to focus on wine tourism and the promotion of local products through targeted strategic actions, such as collaboration with Grana Padano and promotional activities in Milanese restaurants. Ascovilo aims to enhance the region’s gastronomic excellence and ensure an accessible offer in light of the upcoming 2026 Paralympics.
