Fascist and Neo-Nazi Propaganda: Preventive Custody for a 21-Year-Old from Brescia. On the morning of Thursday, July 17, the Carabinieri of the ROS, with the support of local commands and under the auspices of the Brescia Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate, launched a large-scale operation against racist propaganda and incitement to commit crimes via social media. This intervention is part of a growing concern regarding youth radicalization, particularly through digital platforms. A 21-year-old resident of Brescia has been subjected to a preventive custody measure issued by the investigating judge of the local court due to his activities promoting racial propaganda, Holocaust denial, and the glorification of fascism.
The investigations began in December 2023 after monitoring the suspect’s Telegram and TikTok profiles, where he was active in various far-right virtual groups such as “White Lives Matter Italia” and “Casa del Fascio.” Alongside the arrest, 26 search warrants were executed against as many individuals believed to be involved in neo-Nazi and xenophobic online communities. Further investigations identified an additional 29 users nationwide, many of whom are young people aged between 18 and 25, including five minors at the time of the events.
