Lombardy is gearing up for a significant event with the launch of the Olympic Hearts project, which will guide the journey towards the 2026 Winter Olympics. The first appointment is set for March 9, 2025, in Brescia, where the Brescia Art Marathon will take place, thus inaugurating a symbolic relay that will touch all twelve Lombard provinces over a span of ten months. The Tourism Councillor, Barbara Mazzali, emphasized the importance of the event in the context of the Milan-Cortina Olympics and Paralympics, highlighting that every corner of the region deserves to be celebrated.
The project aims to showcase the identity of Lombardy’s territories through events that combine sport and culture. Following the Brescia stage, the Olympic Hearts will continue to other provinces, culminating in December in Sondrio. Mazzali stated that these events not only celebrate sport but also narrate the spirit of Lombardy, highlighting its cultural and natural heritage.
