Brescia Court Orders Return of Riva Aquarama to Christian Teismann After Confiscation Reversal
The Brescia Court of Appeal ordered the return of the Riva Aquarama to its owner, Christian Teismann, revoking the confiscation of the speedboat involved in the June 19, 2021 incident that killed Greta Nedrotti and Umberto Garzarella. Teismann, definitively sentenced to 4 years and 6 months, and his friend Patrick Kassen, sentenced to 2 years and 11 months, will be able to get the vessel back provided they carry out safety works before delivery.
The required measures include making the navigation light system compliant, specifically the non-certified “fanaliera.” In parallel, Umberto Garzarella’s father, Enzo Garzarella, publicly urged Teismann to sell the boat and donate the full proceeds to charity, citing a prior meeting in which Teismann reportedly knelt at the tragedy site and promised memorial initiatives that were not carried out. During the investigation, forensic examinations were also carried out on Umberto Garzarella’s dinghy.
