Brescia Hosts Final of Garda Festival Featuring Contestants and Special Guests

The fifth edition of the Festival del Garda has come to an end. On Saturday evening (September 2) at 9:15 PM, the summer concert tour around Lake Garda (fifteen stops around Italy’s largest lake, plus the gala in Monaco and Verona) concludes, wrapping up a show that received widespread applause everywhere. Once again, it will be the Brescia side to host the final event of this traveling festival. After Desenzano, it’s now Limone sul Garda’s turn.

Performer Section

The musical event features the following contestants in the performer section: Giampiero Tarzia, a 38-year-old from Valeggio (Cercami – Zero), the all-female duo Sofia Marchiotto and Mara Furian (When you believe – Carey-Háuston), Anna Bonometti from Roncadelle (Hero – Mariah Carey), Massimiliano Corrá from San Bonifacio (Live like horses – Elton John), Elena Tavernini from Remedello di Sopra (Brescia) (Mi sei scoppiato dentro il cuore – Mina), and Irene Di Dedda (Woman in love – Streisand), 22 years old from Desenzano.

There are also three contestants competing in the new compositions section. Surprisingly, Andrea Vantini, the festival director, announced that after the Riva del Garda stage, during a review of the trentino jury’s votes, he discovered a perfect tie between Joseph Procino, a 17-year-old from Bergamo, and the Tuscan Renato Simone Donatoni.

Results and Finalists

“The two singers achieved the same score,” explains Vantini. “The tie remains even after eliminating, as per the rules, the highest and lowest scores received by each contestant from the overall count. Given the impossibility of a tiebreak, we have decided to expand the final to three contestants.”

Therefore, the finalists will be Gilberto Lamacchi (Bocca Salata), Joseph Procino (Brivido d’estate), and Renato Simone Donatoni (E’ finito così).

The final will be hosted by the attractive yet highly talented Emanuela Folliero, a familiar face from Retequattro. The show promises surprises, starting with the special appearance by Mal and his legendary hits.

Shows and Guests

The stage will also feature the exuberant Cecilia Gayle, who rose to success in Italy and across Europe in 1998 with El Pam Pam, a song that established her as the undisputed queen of Latin dance. The Costa Rican showgirl last summer marked the season with El tipitipitero, another energetic hit.

The Festival del Garda will showcase dance troupes Remix and Gamblers, singer Elisa Antonelli, production from Cantalago, Giovanni Vangi from the Homerus project, and the comedian from Milan’s Zelig, Giuseppe Braida.

No show would be complete without Cristian Pighi, the winner of the last edition of this music festival, who will perform Eri cosi bella. If it rains, the event will be postponed to Sunday, September 3.
