Brescia Province Launches Road Safety Improvements on the Forra Route Through 2026

The Brescia Province has outlined the schedule for the second phase of safety works on the Strada della Forra (SP38 “Tremosine–Tignale”) following the December 2023 landslide that affected the Camino tunnel. Full road closure is planned from February 2 to March 13, 2026, to carry out structural reinforcement, anchoring, and safety barrier installations.

The work includes structural consolidation inside the tunnel, rock wall stabilization at the northern entrance, and the placement of nets and barriers along the right wall beyond the bridge. These complex interventions will require complete road closure for safety reasons. The project, part of a broader safety plan initiated after the road’s reopening on August 1, will be monitored continuously, with the province committed to completing the work by March 13, 2026.
