Brescia Students Compete for DOP Garda Oil Scholarship at 2026 Award
The Garda DOP Olive Oil Award, organized by the Garda DOP Olive Oil Consortium in partnership with CAST and local culinary associations, is set to return in 2026. The competition will take place at CAST in Brescia, where seven hospitality institutes will compete in a one-hour challenge to create dishes highlighting Garda DOP olive oil, incorporating it both in cooking and as a raw ingredient. The event aims to educate future chefs and restaurant managers on the product’s use and presentation, with scholarships worth €30,000 awarded to top performers.
Each team, composed of an instructor and four students, will have 10 minutes to present their dish and pairing. A jury of industry experts will evaluate based on technique, oil usage, and storytelling. The competition offers cash prizes totaling €1,200 and the prestigious “Chef Enzo Dellea” award, along with scholarships for the best entries.
