Brescia’s mayors have requested a meeting with Transport Minister Matteo Salvini to discuss the introduction of tolls along the Corda Molle, a matter of vital importance for local communities. In a letter sent to the minister, 24 mayors emphasized the crucial role of this roadway for commuters and freight transporters, proposing solutions to enhance the efficiency of the transport system.
The mayors have asked to postpone the start of the toll by one year and to consider sustainable alternatives, highlighting the importance of transparency in the analysis of data related to traffic on the Corda Molle. In recent months, a petition against the toll has also been launched by the mayor of Montirone, Filippo Spagnoli, which has gathered over 12,000 signatures, raising concerns about the negative impact on the entire Brescia hinterland.
