Brescia’s Lonato Fair Prepares for 2024 Revival of Agricultural, Artisanal Roots
After completing most of the bureaucratic formalities, the organizational apparatus for the 43rd edition of the Lonato Fair is now fully engaged in setting up the extensive area that will be occupied from January 14 to 16 by the trade show stands of the first Fair of the year in the Province of Brescia.
Preparations and Themes of the Event
This coming Wednesday, November 29, during the City Council session, the forecast budget for the Lonato Fair of 2001 will be approved. This edition, as already announced multiple times, aims to be, in the true sense of the word, a return to what was once the tradition of this fair—namely, agricultural, artisanal, and commercial.
Also, the organization has returned, after more or less successful experiences, to being managed directly by the Municipal Administration through the mayor, Morando Perini, mayor of Lonato and, by statute, the legal president of the organizing committee, which also includes other local administrators such as the Assessor for Commerce Paolo Marcoli and Alessandra Fontana, Assessor for Culture, Public Education, and Sports.
Challenges and Location of the Fair
It certainly will not be an easy task to revive and restore to its former glory this event, which was once also called the “Small Fair.” Nonetheless, the strategic and exhibition placement will still involve all those external spaces adjacent to and bordering the school buildings, along with a natural connection to the historic center via the traditional string of market stalls that can simultaneously evoke the festive and fair atmosphere that is so fitting for this event in 2001.
Participations and Supporting Events
Meanwhile, the efforts of the organizers are beginning to secure commendable endorsements from sponsoring entities such as, as announced, the Ministry for Agricultural Resources. As is now customary, there will also be participation confirmed by the Region Lombardy Department of Agriculture and many others from the Agriculture Department of the Province of Brescia.
In addition, the Secretarial Office has already started receiving initial requests for participation, which will soon be evaluated by the committee members. To better organize the various product sectors and make them as homogeneous as possible amongst themselves, the organizers also invite all those interested in participating in the January Fair to hurry and send their respective requests to the Piazza Martiri della Libertà Secretarial Office.
The calendar of supporting and related events is also being finalized, and it already promises to be of particular and varied interest.
