History and features of the Spino refuge
The Spino refuge, named after Lieutenant Doctor Giorgio Pirlo, was built in the 1960s, refurbishing the rustic (the former battered Finance barracks, a key defensive position on the second line of the Austrian front during the ’15-’18 war) that belonged to engineer Luigi Visentini.
The work was carried out by members of Cai who, in their free time, transformed into laborers, masons, carpenters, painters. The inauguration took place on June 11, ’67.
Tradition and annual activities
Every year in autumn, the Ottobrata is organized. A way to gather together, compete, and end the day with jokes, eating, and singing.
