During the Italian Championship of Olympic Classes Edison Next, held in Palermo from October 30 to November 2, the Canottieri Garda Salò triumphed with two Italian titles. Antonio Squizzato secured first place in the 2.4 mR class, confirming his exceptional form after winning the World Championship title just two weeks earlier in Malcesine. Stefano Savelli and Giancarlo Mariani finished in second and third place, respectively. In the same competition, Giovanni Santi, paired with Alex Demurtas, claimed both the absolute and Under 23 titles in the 49er class, defeating high-level competitors such as Zeno Marchesini and Leonardo Chistè. The regatta saw participation from 399 athletes representing 20 nations, including several Olympic and World champions. Despite unfavorable weather conditions, characterized by light winds in the early days, the sailors from Canottieri Garda showcased their skills brilliantly, achieving excellent results that reflect the commitment and preparation of the oldest sailing club on Lake Garda.
