A significant incident occurred in Caprino Veronese on the evening of Friday, March 1st, when local Carabinieri arrested a 58-year-old inspector involved in a cocaine trafficking operation. The man was caught while heading to a rest area to meet an accomplice, a 40-year-old of Moroccan descent, to whom he handed over two bags, each containing one kilogram of the drug. The prompt intervention of a nearby patrol allowed the authorities to apprehend both individuals in the act.
Both were transferred to the Montorio prison, while law enforcement initiated a search of the arrested Carabinieri’s residence.
