Carabinieri Impersonators Scamming Garda Region Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to police-associated magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who claim to belong at different times to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear without a trace.
