Carabinieri Scam Alerts: How to Recognize and Prevent Fraud

Pretending to be Carabinieri, individuals are calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to military magazines of the Arma.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, regular police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer show up.
