Carabinieri Scams Targeting Businesses in Garda Area: How to Recognize Them

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the armed forces magazines.

They are not soldiers, but con artists who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect being targeted by someone who,
