On the night between Thursday and Friday, five young individuals were poisoned by carbon monoxide inside a tourist accommodation located in Colombare di Sirmione. The alert was raised around 3:20 AM when the group, consisting of three young men and two young women just over twenty, began to feel unwell. One of them promptly contacted the emergency number 112, thus activating the rescue services. Two ambulances from the Red Cross quickly arrived at the scene, followed by a team from the Fire Brigade and the Carabinieri.
The five individuals, all conscious at the time of the intervention, were transported in yellow and green code to the hospitals in Desenzano and Brescia for further checks. Their conditions do not raise any concern. Initial investigations suggest that the poisoning may have been caused by a faulty gas boiler; further technical checks are currently underway to clarify the dynamics of the incident.
