As Carnival approaches, the units of the Guardia di Finanza operating in the province of Brescia have intensified their inspections, resulting in the seizure of over 350,000 non-compliant products with national and European regulations. These items, intended for public sale, included carnival goods, clothing, and toys lacking the necessary information in Italian regarding their origin and safety for use. The operations involved five commercial establishments located in various municipalities in Brescia.
The identified irregularities have been penalized with fines ranging from 2,580 to 129,115 euros, as stipulated by the Consumer Code. This initiative is part of a memorandum of understanding between the Guardia di Finanza and the Chamber of Commerce of Brescia, aimed at ensuring a fair and safe market for consumers, combating the spread of products that do not meet safety standards, and thereby protecting the legal economy.
