Castel Goffredo Residents Eligible for Gpl Discounts in Non-Gas Areas

The maps showing areas not covered by natural gas pipelines, and therefore eligible for fuel discounts, will be available throughout June. The City Council has identified parts of Castel Goffredo’s territory that lack a network for the distribution of heating methane.

Under law 448, residents living in these zones are entitled to discounted propane gas (Gpl), and the council resolution allows them to certify this condition. Naturally, private individuals must guarantee that the gas is used solely for heating purposes and not for other uses.

Areas affected and gas distribution

Analyzing the maps filed at the town hall, many residents of Castel Goffredo will benefit from this law and the accompanying council resolution, as several areas are not reached by the natural gas network. For example, all the districts to the northeast of the city: Grole, Astore, Barche, Santa Maria, Valle, Albana, Fichetto, and Breda.

While Gozzolina, due to the presence of numerous industrial activities and denser settlements, receives methane in most of the inhabited area, this is not the case for nearby zones such as San Vigilio and San Viletto, which must rely on Gpl. Also unserviced are Baita Nuova and the districts of Prede and Botteghino, after the cemetery toward the Brescia province border.

Benefits and application forms

Discounts are also available for homes located on both sides of the Benaco road, outside the city center toward the north. Therefore, more than a thousand individuals are likely to benefit, with additional small farms or residences of very limited size included.

The maps and the application forms for obtaining the gas price reduction are available at the single service desk, on the first floor of Palazzo Gonzaga, the municipal offices. When filling out the declaration, residents must check the box marked with the letter ‘a’, indicating residence in a zone recognized as non-methanized.
