Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium, located in Castelnuovo del Garda, has recently been appointed as the new ambassador for the LIFE European Sharks project, an initiative aimed at the conservation of sharks in the Mediterranean. The aquarium joined the project at the invitation of the Livorno Aquarium, already a partner in this European initiative, and will commit to raising visitor awareness about the importance of protecting sharks and rays through educational and informative activities.
The LIFE European Sharks project aims to create a network of entities and organizations dedicated to the protection of sharks, which are threatened by accidental capture and environmental degradation. Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium will actively participate in promoting best practices for marine conservation, helping to convey the message that sharks are essential for the health of marine ecosystems and that, contrary to common perception, it is they who are in danger.
