Castiglione Council Focuses on Security and Nomad Inquiries
Safety and Inquiries in Council
One of the topics that energized the council meeting was security. Two inquiries from Lega Nord, in particular, focused on the activities of the security commission and on the presence of nomads in the municipal territory.
Councillor Zaglio, president of the working group on high-risk neighborhoods, read a report on the commission’s work, including the decisions made. Among these, the main one is the possibility of utilizing the available 40 million euro fund to create a night surveillance service in the area, coordinated by the Municipal Police.
It was also agreed to install cameras at risky points and to conduct comprehensive checks at Cinque Continenti.
Commitments and Proposals
«The Lega has promoted the true needs of the residents of Castiglione – Zaglio read in the chamber – we are attentive to social issues and are gathering concerns from the neighborhoods. Our territory needs more control».
Among other things, a request was signed by five councilors to include the topic of security and the progress of the relevant commission’s work on the agenda of the next session.
Support for the proposal was across party lines: Francesco Mutti and Guido Zaglio from Lega were joined by three members of the majority, Gianfranco Preti, Fabio Teti, and Oscar Borsadoli from Castiglione al Centro.
Inquiry about Nomads
Another inquiry from Carroccio, this one by Mutti about nomads. «We ask police and carabinieri to warn and evict any vagrants – explained the councillor – as soon as their permitted stop time has expired».
