Castiglione delle Stiviere Sets Over 2.5 Billion Lire in Municipal Bonds
The municipality of Castiglione delle Stiviere will issue BOC, the Ordinary Municipal Bonds, for an amount exceeding two and a half billion lire.
This was decided by the council in the presence of all members, with the only exception of Castiglione Domani councilor Pietro Mognetti, who had distanced himself from his majority in recent days.
The municipal council approved a long series of measures related to the budget, presented by the assessore alla partita Innocente Sereni. Regarding the final account for the year 2000, the municipality closed with a surplus of 904 million lire, which was partially committed through the budget variation.
The increase in spending compared to forecasts was due to technical consultancy fees and expenses in social and educational sectors. Notable interventions in the approved budget variation include the purchase of furnishings for schools, the cycle-pedestrian track on Via Beschi, and some arrangements within the cemetery.
These two measures were approved with the favorable vote of the majority, without Mognetti, and with the opposition voting against. Regarding the issuance of BOC, it should be noted that the Castiglione administration, unable to take out new loans, decided on this operation to finance the restructuring of the former Asilo Menghini (1.2 billion lire) and the municipal archive (515 million);
these expenses will be complemented by the 910 million lire needed to complete the Integrated Day Center. The BOC will be issued in denominations of five million lire and will be placed on the market by the banks of Castiglione.
