Castiglione Schools Upgrade: Over €1B Funding for Kindergarten, Training Center
The municipal administration, as announced by the assessor for Public Works, is investing over one billion euros in the schools of Castiglione delle Stiviere.
The projects include the new kindergarten in the San Pietro area (pictured by Bassi) and the Regional Vocational Training Center of Belvedere. In the first case, the investments cover systems installation, while the Vocational Training Center will be refurbished and completed.
Details on the interventions at the new kindergarten
Approximately 315 million euros will be allocated to the water, heating, sanitary, and fire prevention systems of the new building, which will host 4 sections of children aged between 3 and 5 years, currently housed in the elementary school complex.
The awarded contract, now definitive, provides for the installation of a natural gas system and a ground-floor thermal plant: it will feature two high-efficiency ecological gas wall boilers for heating.
The primary source for hot water will be solar energy, with panels mounted on the roof above the internal thermal plant. A central boiler will be used to produce hot water for sanitary purposes.
Equipped with state-of-the-art systems, the new kindergarten will have a radiant floor heating system for the corridor, lobby, cafeteria, and all classrooms—essentially, the spaces frequented by children.
This will ensure environmental comfort and safety, as the system will be installed beneath the linoleum flooring. Additionally, there are plans for multiple restrooms and a fire prevention system with a connection for the Fire Brigade pump.
Nearly 125 million euros have been allocated to electrical and alarm systems to prevent intrusion and theft.
Funding for the Regional Vocational Training Center
While the construction of the kindergarten nears completion, a funding of 700 million euros, provided by the Region, will support the Belvedere Vocational Training Center.
In this case, planned works include reconstructing the access staircase without barriers for disabled persons, replacing broken tiles, rain gutters, and converters, removing unused chimneys and TV antennas, creating an internal parking lot, and improving green areas.
