Castle Tour in Garda Trentino: Historic Sites and Guided Excursions

The Castle Tour in Garda Trentino

There is more to see than just the Arco fortress among the destinations of the “Castle Tour in Garda Trentino”, one of the most appreciated and successful initiatives offered by Apt altogardesana. Every summer, this program attracts tourists arriving in the Busa region.

The package provided by the tourism promotion company is free of charge every week, from mid-June until early September. It includes some of the most evocative historical and cultural sites in the area, from Drena Castle to Tenno Castle (featuring the Church of S. Lorenzo), as well as Arco, and environmentally significant sites like the Marocche Biotope located north of Dro.

Alongside the tour of the historic ruins of Altogarda, visitors can also participate in guided tours—also free—of Riva and Arco cities, strolling along their main streets, exploring the most important and charming churches, and visiting museums, historic palaces, arboretums, and casinos.

Results and new developments of the initiative

Last year, this initiative was a huge success, as evidenced by the figures provided by Apt itself. After a slow start in July and August, there was almost always a sell-out attendance.

The innovation for this year consists of excursions organized together with Alpine guides, taking place every Wednesday afternoon. These will lead groups of vacationers on tours around the war forts on Monte Brione, atop the slopes of Monte Colodri, and in the Tennese area.

The initiative will cost a mere 10,000 Italian lire per person, with mandatory reservations (just like the castle tours) made by 5 p.m. the day before.
