Catullo School: Opposition Questions Offices as Temperatures Soar Past 30°C

The Desenzano del Garda city council’s School Catullo has become the subject of a parliamentary-style inquiry after reports that its cooling system is not working properly during extreme temperatures, with office areas allegedly exceeding 30°C just months after the inauguration of the new Valerio Catullo middle school.

In the inquiry, council members Stefano Terzi and Maria Vittoria Papa ask the relevant assessors, Maiolo and Degasperi, whether other malfunctions occurred during the school year, how the cooling system is divided between offices and classrooms, and who is responsible for maintenance—either the municipality or the construction company. The document also cites other previously reported issues at the facility, including access stairs to classrooms, a teachers’ room without windows, and a special needs classroom set up in spaces originally intended for other activities.
