Cavaion Festival Highlights: Performing, Social Initiatives, & Pageant

Event and Audience

Cavaion. Music and beauty, a winning combination in the welcoming open-air theater of the Arena Torcolo, although with a one-day delay, as the scheduled event for Saturday was moved to Sunday due to a storm.

Large audience followed the Cantalago, marking the success of the performance by the hilarious Turin-based comedian Gianpiero Perone.

Moments of Embarrassment and Social Initiatives

There was an awkward moment when the beautiful and talented Gloria Zanin forgot her memory during the event. She was unable to present the social initiative linked to the singing tour: the Salomè project, which promotes the remote adoption of children from the shantytown of Ambodivona in Madagascar, a story repeatedly shared by Zanin.

To resolve the situation, Raffaello Serafini stepped in, ready to comfort the former Miss Italia and give voice to the initiative. The unexpected turn of events made Zanin even more charming, as she skillfully turned the page and kept the festival lively.

Performers and Results

In the performers’ section, the deserved success of Samantha Dal Maso, a 24-year-old from Bastia Rovolon, who captivated the audience with an impeccable rendition of I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor.

Four and a half points behind was Sara Richelli from Bussolengo (I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston), who showed notable improvement compared to previous editions of the Festival.

It was no better for her fellow villager, Carlo D’Auria. The young man with an approachable look was noticed more for his glasses and red tie over a white shirt than for his singing, performing The Calm Sea of the Evening by Bocelli.

Similarly, Francesca Troiani from Sona did not share much with the famous Whitney Houston, performing The Greatest Love of All.

Newcomers and Final

In the original songs section, the success of the twin sisters from Buttapietra, Barbara and Stefania Marogna, both 23 years old and working women, who proposed In the Search for a Mate, a piece that evokes strong emotions.

Less fortunate was Giovanni Bongiovanni from Cerea, author of Soltanto il tempo.

Between songs, the tension increased with three different outfits (costume, body, and evening dress) worn by the 13 candidates for the Miss Cavaion title. The crown went to the dark-haired 18-year-old from Thiene, Federica Dalle Carbonare.

With the best blue eyes and standing 1.74 meters tall, she boasts impressive measurements (89-64-92). The girls and singers were awarded by the mayor, Giancarlo Sabaini, along with the assessor Lorenzo Sartori and Franca Merigo, president of the association Cavaion nel mondo.

This evening at 9:30 PM, the Cantalago will take place at the former Trottolino equestrian field in Toscolano Maderno, hosted by Federica Moro.
