Cecchetto’s Lakefront Project Sparks Debate on Tradition and Public Needs

The grand presentation of Cecchetto‘s proposal for the reconversion of the lakefront area is expected to spark a debate and discussions about the future of the most valuable part of the municipal territory.

The privilege of opening the commentary series goes to Pier Giorgio Zambotti, who criticizes Lido di Riva spa, the client commissioning the project.

Criticisms of Architectural Solutions

It is stated that “the architectural solutions can only make the great Maroni turn in his grave for how much they deviate from Gardesana tradition.”

Zambotti affirms that despite the mountain of debt on its shoulders, Lido di Riva “for the primary goal of acquiring new partners and therefore more funds, has preferred to undertake grandiose projects.”

He appears to think that public money might be used for the works. However, it must be clear that a “new balance must be found between the rightful tourism needs and the needs of all Rivanians.”
