The Coast Guard will celebrate the feast day of Saint Barbara, the patron saint of the Italian Navy, with a solemn ceremony to be held at the Cathedral of Salò on December 5 at 4:00 PM. The event will see the participation of officers and sailors from the local detachment, based in the lakeside town. The celebration will be officiated by Military Chaplain Monsignor Andrea Scarabello and Don Claudio Cittadini, alongside institutional figures such as the Maritime Director of Venice, Rear Admiral Filippo Marini, and the Commander of the Coast Guard of Lake Garda, Captain Antonello Ragadale.
The Coast Guard unit on Lake Garda operates with a control room active 24 hours a day and has eight vessels to ensure the surveillance of the lake’s waters and shores. These vessels are stationed at three strategic points: Salò, Lazise, and Torbole, according to a Memorandum of Understanding with the neighboring regions. Local military associations and provincial institutional representatives are also invited to participate in the ceremony.
