Centomiglia 2024: Bogliaco hosts the historic regatta of Lake Garda

The Centomiglia, the historic regatta on Lake Garda, is gearing up to celebrate its 75th edition with an event taking place on September 6 and 7 in Bogliaco. The fleet continues to grow, surpassing 100 entries, featuring boats of various classes and types, including the renowned Dolphin 81 and multihulls. Among the participants stands out Roberto Benamati, a thirteen-time winner of the event, who will compete with his Star to honor a family tradition. The event is not just a water competition; it also includes a rich program of land activities, such as film screenings and concerts.

The weekend will be marked by special events starting from September 4, with initiatives dedicated to visually impaired sailors and young mariners in the Cento Junior. The races will kick off on Saturday at 8:30 AM with the Trofeo Gargnano, continuing on Sunday with the Trofeo Gorla. This year, the introduction of a “time compensation” system will allow boats of all levels to compete fairly, making the regatta accessible even to those with less competitive boats. The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday evening in Piazza Bogliaco, concluding a weekend dedicated to sports and community.
