CentoMiglia 2025: news and challenges for the Gargnano regatta

The CentoMiglia, a historic sailing regatta, is gearing up to celebrate its 75th edition on September 6 and 7, 2025. Organized by the Circolo Vela Gargnano, this event is one of the longest-running competitions on inland waters in Italy and welcomes sailors of all skill levels. Registrations are already open online, and this year there are significant updates, including the introduction of the ORC regulations for the overall ranking, aimed at ensuring a fairer competition among the boats. Additionally, thanks to an agreement with the Italian Offshore Sailing Union (UVAI), financial incentives will be available for obtaining or renewing the ORC certificate.

Beyond the race at sea, the event includes land activities to engage the public, such as a large screen to follow the regatta live and cultural activities like screenings of films related to the world of sailing. The CentoMiglia is not just a sporting competition but also an important opportunity for social gathering and tourism promotion of the surrounding area. With additional events planned and the intention to move the next edition to September 12-13, 2026, the event continues to strengthen its ties with local communities and sailing enthusiasts.
