Centro Fiera Montichiari Hosts Sacred Art, Antiquarian, and Cycling Events

Three trade fairs happening simultaneously. This weekend at the Centro Fiera di Montichiari pavilions, visitors will have the choice among three prominent events: “Pulchra Ecclesia” (sacred art), “Samarcanda” (antiquarian), and “Due Ruote” (cycling festival). Three events in three different pavilions, which can also be visited in a single visit, supporting the Centro Fiera secretariat’s belief that “by doubling or tripling events, each can benefit from the synergy of the others.”

Sacred art exhibition and cultural display

“Pulchra Ecclesia,” the inaugural exhibition of arts dedicated to sacred space, opened last Thursday. It aims to be an event of high-level discussion, on an international scale, around major questions of art and sacred arts (architecture, painting, sculpture, design, music). The types of products include (such as liturgical furnishings and components for worship building, lighting, objects for worship, liturgical vestments, fabrics, priestly garments, images for worship, religious articles) and services (restoration, religious publishing, installation work, IT, consulting, and conferences).

A special section is dedicated to the “Crucifixion” in contemporary painting and sculpture, featuring works from eight galleries (Gariboldi, Marieschi, Antologia, Disegno, Mari, Bellinzona, Arte Bergamo, Niccoli) and two display areas: “Artists with a cassock” (Renato Laffranchi, Costantino Ruggeri, Marco Ivan Rupnik) and “Enterprise and beauty,” which focuses on restoration and enhancement of cultural assets, curated by the Roman artist Sandro Benedetti. Entry to “Pulchra Ecclesia” is open with continuous hours (9 AM – 7 PM).

Antiquarian event

The 13th edition of “Samarcanda” opens today and will be open until Sunday, February 4. The exhibition includes furniture, paintings, jewelry, pictures, rugs, ceramics, prints, sculptures, fabrics. Sporting event dedicated to cycling

The third event is sports-related. It is the third edition of “Due Ruote in Fiera,” dedicated to cycling. Two days of celebration, marked by music and social gatherings, among the forty stands set up in the pavilion, with the participation of cycling legends and emerging talents from Brescia. Tomorrow morning, the provincial Sports Councillor Alessandro Sala and Gianmaria Pastorelli from Montichiari will be present to participate in the awards ceremony for individuals who have been close to or have supported the world of two wheels. f.d.c.
