A police chase occurred in Sirmione, involving a sixty-year-old Italian man residing in the Vicenza area, who turned out to be without a driver’s license and insurance. The incident began when the man failed to stop for the local police; his vehicle was identified as irregular through the license plate recognition system. After attempting to evade capture down a side street in the town center, he initiated a chase that lasted 44 kilometers and ended in Ponti sul Mincio.
Blocked in a dead end, the individual was found to be without a license, which had been revoked years ago, and was driving an uninsured vehicle. He was charged with resisting a public official and fined over 6,000 euros in penalties. Additionally, the vehicle was seized by the relevant authorities after the man was fingerprinted at the local police station in Desenzano.
