City Council Delays Stall Sports Facilities Projects in Arco

When indecision reaches absurd levels, it becomes a paradox. The board of directors of the Fondazione Comunità di Arco is almost entirely composed of members appointed by the city council. However, almost a year and a half later, they have yet to decide whether to rent a plot of land, a few thousand square meters, from the Bruttagosto agricultural estate. It is intended for relocating the gardening units. The incredible indecision is causing significant problems for Fabrizio Miori (the councilor), who needs to complete the artificial wall for the climbing area.

Problems and delays in organizing sports activities

For the facility to operate properly, it must be equipped with adequate services. These services require the use of the area within the Althamer estate, currently occupied by the gardening units. Furthermore, there is an urgent need to make the climbing wall accessible to enthusiasts, many of whom are still active in these days.

“It’s unthinkable,” comments the worried councilor Miori, “to rely on the nearby middle school as we do in September for the Rock Master competition, when students are on vacation. These disruptions tarnish the city’s image. They also negatively impact the functionality of the gardening units. The translocation to Bruttagosto, for which 80 million euros are allocated in the budget, would be ideal after the recent upgrade and the quality leap achieved in public green space management.”

Potential and collaborations within the agricultural estate

Within the large estate of the Fondazione, the gardening units could better realize their potential by improving costs and performance. To avoid damage to existing crops, we had even requested the concession of unproductive zones.” Miori recalls the presence in that estate along the Sarca River of the Provincial School of Floriculture, with which a close collaboration has existed for years.

There is also the possibility of unifying the municipal gardening units of Busa. “It’s useless,” concludes the disillusioned Miori, “to plan important decisions for the city if everything then stalls over an unresolved decision. Too many months have already passed since the Fondazione president attended the city council to make promises. Since then, silence has fallen.”

“I have decided to remove the 80 million euros allocated in the budget for the impossible transfer. The allocated funds will be redirected to initiatives that are certainly feasible and, moreover, quick to implement.”
