Close encounter with a bear on Pizzocolo: a resident’s account
A resident of Toscolano Maderno had a close encounter with a young bear on Monte Pizzocolo. Fabio Klein, an avid mountain runner, was descending towards Malga Valle when he spotted the animal about twenty meters away. After a brief moment of eye contact, the bear continued on its path without displaying any aggressive behavior.
This incident occurs amidst growing concern following a recent attack on a French tourist in the nearby municipality of Dro. Local authorities confirm that bear sightings are not uncommon in the area and urge caution during hikes in the woods.
