Starting today, Monday, January 20, the closure of the San Zeno tunnel along the SP11 in the area of Lonato del Garda is officially in effect. This intervention is necessary for the upgrading and safety enhancement of the stretch, and it will last approximately three months, during which the closure will be total and in effect 24 hours a day. The first phase of the work is expected to be completed by the end of April, after which there will be a night-time closure from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM the following day, extending into the early days of 2026.
Local authorities have announced that the works will also involve changes to traffic in the surrounding areas, therefore residents and motorists are advised to pay attention to the notices and road signs provided. The situation will be monitored continuously to ensure the least possible disruption during this important infrastructure project.
