Coast Guard Report: Safe Summer on Lake Garda

The Coast Guard’s report on Lake Garda highlights a safe summer, with 204 people rescued. As the summer season came to a close, which saw intense boating traffic, the Coast Guard presented the results of the “Safe Lakes 2025” operation, launched on June 15. This initiative also involved Lake Como and Lake Maggiore, thanks to the new “Lake Operational Unit” in Milan. In total, 829 naval missions were carried out, covering over 14,000 nautical miles in 1,770 hours of navigation, with 3,194 safety and environmental inspections, resulting in 463 administrative fines totaling nearly 100,000 euros. Focusing on Lake Garda, the Coast Guard Unit conducted 93 coordinated rescue operations, also assisting 63 pleasure craft. Overall, the naval units completed 480 missions, traveling 7,600 miles in 906 hours of navigation, and imposed 257 administrative fines along with five boat seizures. This summer also saw a change of command in the Salò Unit between Commander Antonello Ragadale and Commander Massimiliano Quinto. The Coast Guard emphasized the importance of collaboration with the eight relevant prefectures and other rescue forces to ensure timely interventions even in adverse weather conditions, expressing gratitude to the personnel from various law enforcement agencies and local associations for their support during the summer season.
