Coast Guard Rescues Five Amid Strong Winds and Rough Lake Conditions Between Desenzano and Sirmione

Five people were rescued yesterday during emergency operations on Lake Garda due to strong winds and rough waters. Coordinated by the Salò Coast Guard Operations Room, rescue efforts took place between 12:00 and 14:30 in the waters near Desenzano, Sirmione, and the northern sector of Trentino, involving vessels from Torbole.

The first rescue involved a solo kayaker in distress between Desenzano and Sirmione, who managed to reach shore independently. Additional operations included rescuing two people from a capsized sailboat, retrieving three windsurfers adrift, and advising boaters to monitor weather conditions and carry emergency communication devices.
