The Concert Season in Desenzano del Garda is set to return, enriching the cultural landscape of the city with a series of musical events scheduled from December 1, 2024, to April 13, 2025. Following the success of the twelfth edition of the Garda Lake Music Festival, the program promises a diverse and high-quality lineup aimed at all music enthusiasts.

Organized by the Municipality of Desenzano in collaboration with the Garda Lake Music ETS Association, the season will kick off with an inaugural event on December 1 at the Teatro Alberti. This extraordinary concert will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the city band, the Filarmonica Città di Desenzano del Garda. Artistic director Maestro Luca Ranieri expressed his enthusiasm for this new edition: “We are delighted to collaborate with the Municipality to offer the city a rich and diverse musical program.”

Main Events

Christmas Concert

On December 23, at 8:30 PM, the Cathedral of Desenzano will host the “Christmas Concert 2024,” featuring the young musicians of “I piccoli musici,” directed by Mario Mora. Together with narrator Valerio Busseni and the instrumental ensemble “Soledad Sonora,” they will perform “The Legend of the Wise Artaban,” a musical Christmas tale inspired by a text by American author Henry Van Dyke.

New Year’s Concert

On December 28, also at 8:30 PM, the Church of San Biagio in Rivoltella will welcome the Orchestra “I Cameristi” under the direction of Pier Carlo Orizio. The program will be entirely dedicated to Mozart, featuring works such as the famous A major Concerto K 622 for clarinet and orchestra.

Chamber Concerts

With the arrival of the new year, chamber concerts will commence:

  • January 26: Duo featuring Marco Rizzi and Andrea Lucchesini at the Auditorium Celesti.
  • February 2: Kyoko Takezawa and Edoardo Strabbioli will present romantic music.
  • March 9: Roberto Ranfaldi and Maurizio Baglini will showcase a romantic repertoire.

These concerts will provide listeners with the opportunity to immerse themselves in classical works performed by renowned artists from the Italian music scene.

Season Conclusion

The series will conclude with several significant events:

  • On April 6, at the Church of San Biagio, there will be a “Easter Concert” featuring the String Quartet from La Mole Armonica.
  • Finally, on April 13, at the Auditorium Celesti, there will be a Lyrical Recital featuring Alessio Arduini and Chiara Milini, accompanied on the piano by Stefano Chinca.

All concerts will be free of charge, making great music accessible to the entire Desenzano community.
