Construction Begins in Sirmione’s Piazza Unità d’Italia and Waterfront
The Sirmione municipal government has launched a comprehensive maintenance program focused on infrastructure safety, functionality, and urban aesthetics, aligned with its three-year public works plan. Key projects include the resurfacing of Piazza Unità d’Italia, set to begin February 9 with a €121,000 investment, which will temporarily alter local traffic and bus routes.
Additional initiatives involve beach renourishment at Lugana and Punta Grò, with regional approval for works starting around mid-February, and upgrades to public facilities such as the Palazzo dei Congressi and the Pontile delle Bionde. Other projects include roadway repairs, public space improvements, and safety measures at sports and civic sites, with a total expenditure exceeding €1.2 million. The administration emphasizes these efforts as essential for long-term urban safety, accessibility, and quality of life.
