Alto Garda: Two Foreigners Arrested for Stealing a Credit Card and Withdrawing €2,000 Recently, the Carabinieri in Arco arrested two foreign nationals, aged 25 and 50, for aggravated theft and unlawful use of a credit card. The incident occurred late Saturday morning in a supermarket in Alto Garda, where the pair skillfully stole a wallet from an elderly woman during her shopping. The victim, realizing the theft immediately, went to the Carabinieri to report the incident and block her cards.
In the meantime, she began receiving notifications on her phone regarding unauthorized withdrawals. The officers promptly activated a network of patrols coordinated by the Operations Center in Riva del Garda, deploying to the main ATMs in the area. Shortly thereafter, the patrol identified the two criminals as they attempted to make a withdrawal at a local bank. Stopped at the scene, they were found in possession of the stolen card, the victim’s personal belongings, and approximately €2,000 just withdrawn. Additionally, a driver’s license registered to a third party was discovered, and investigations are ongoing.
