Officers from the Mobile Squad, who had been monitoring the vehicle as part of preventive investigations, attempted to intercept him, but the man abruptly accelerated, running red lights and invading sidewalks.
The chase ended on a dirt road where the 50-year-old was forced to abandon the car after becoming trapped by a ditch. In an attempt to escape on foot, he violently reacted against the officers, striking them with kicks and punches until he was subdued. Arrested for receiving stolen goods, violence, and resisting a public official, the man was made available to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The Police Chief of Brescia issued a public safety warning against him and a mandatory order prohibiting his return to Lonato for the next four years, highlighting the need for strict preventive measures against violent acts towards law enforcement officers.
