Defibrillators in Brescia: cardiovascular safety in health emergencies
The Province of Brescia has recently launched an important initiative for cardiovascular safety by equipping itself with 29 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) placed in various strategic locations, including Palazzo Broletto, the offices of the Provincial Police, and Employment Centers. This action aims to ensure rapid interventions in case of a health emergency, even by non-medical personnel, thereby increasing the chances of survival in critical situations such as cardiac arrest. The President of the Province, Emanuele Moraschini, emphasized that beyond legal obligations, there is a “moral duty” towards the community. To ensure the proper functioning of the AEDs, a designated representative has been appointed for each device, responsible for its maintenance and operational condition checks. Additionally, the personnel involved in using the defibrillators have received specific training to respond effectively in case of necessity. The defibrillators are registered on the PADDLES platform, allowing the emergency medical operations center to quickly coordinate interventions and indicate the nearest AED during emergency calls. The entire project involved a total investment of €82,671.50 for the purchase and installation of the devices. Italian Version
