Desenzano, ASST Garda and Visit Desenzano Launch Salute e Turismo 2026 Project
ASST Garda and Visit Desenzano presented the “Salute e Turismo” project on 18 June 2026 at the CSSP Damiana Abrami in Desenzano del Garda, aiming to make the Lake Garda area more welcoming and safer for visitors by improving access to healthcare services during their stay.
Based on the experience of Dialysis Vacanza, the initiative allows patients undergoing hemodialysis to continue treatment while staying in the area, using facilities in Desenzano and Gavardo. It has now been expanded to include non-urgent specialist services, walk-in collection points, interpretation support, and dedicated digital tools. ASST Garda’s CEO Roberta Chiesa said the goal is to provide a nearby healthcare reference point and reduce inappropriate use of emergency rooms, adding that the services are provided under private practice and do not affect public healthcare waiting lists.
Visit Desenzano president Emanuele Bonotto highlighted the role of public-private collaboration in meeting people’s needs, saying that quality service is key to making the territory more attractive for both tourists and residents. A collaboration certificate for the project was also handed out for 2026.
