Desenzano: Catullo students engaged in the national robotics competition First Lego League. Over the weekend, more than 30 students from Catullo Middle School traveled to Genoa to participate in the national finals of the competition, aiming to secure a spot at the world championships. The First Lego League 2025 is an event that involves children and young people aged 4 to 16, introducing them to the world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through hands-on activities with LEGO bricks. The students from Desenzano are competing against over forty teams from across Italy, supported by teachers Marco Cemmi and Paola Trivelli.

The competition is divided into three categories: “Discover,” “Explore,” and “Challenge,” each designed to teach the fundamentals of STEM through missions in the robot game, which this year focuses on the theme “Ocean.” Participants engage in research activities, problem-solving, programming, and engineering to build and program a LEGO robot capable of completing various challenges. This marks the third consecutive year for Catullo students in the competition, which continues to inspire their curiosity and creativity in the field of educational robotics.
