Desenzano Castle Reinforces Strategic Walls with Restoration and Safety Upgrades
Desenzano Castle is undergoing urgent stabilization efforts as structural risks threaten its integrity. The local government has approved a new feasibility study with over €14,000 allocated to develop a restoration plan focused on consolidating the castle’s walls and ensuring safety.
The project comes amid concerns over the nearby Beretta barracks, which requires a costly intervention estimated at over €10 million. The historic site, originally built on a Roman castrum and modified over centuries, has suffered from decades of neglect, prompting the need for immediate action to prevent collapse.
