Desenzano del Garda Overdose Emergency: Rescue Teams Respond

A 21-year-old man was rescued after an opioid overdose outside a nightclub in Desenzano at about 5 a.m. early Sunday and was taken to the local hospital in code red, where he remains under treatment.

A 112 call prompted an immediate response from Carabinieri and 118 emergency medical teams, who found the man unconscious on the ground; preliminary investigators say the case appears to be an opiate intoxication and not linked to an assault. Rescue operations were described as rapid and coordinated.
