The committee “Let’s Keep the Hospital at Montecroce” has expressed strong criticism following the approval of the memorandum of understanding regarding the new hospital in Desenzano del Garda. The group accuses local authorities of having “ignored and snubbed the citizens,” emphasizing that citizen participation in the decision-making process has not been ensured. In particular, committee members highlighted the lack of meetings between ASST Garda, the Province of Brescia, ATS Brescia, and the mayors of Area 11, accusing the latter of not playing an active role in the matter.
In response to these concerns, the committee announced several upcoming initiatives, including a “march of the invisible” and a sit-in outside the offices of the Province and the Region. Additionally, they formally requested the implementation of the provisions contained in the Feasibility Study to ensure that all stakeholders are involved in the process. The committee continues to demand a thorough study that considers innovative solutions for the modernization of the Montecroce Hospital, promising further actions if their requests are not met.
