Recently, the “Keep the Hospital on Montecroce” committee issued a call to the mayors of District 11, urging their active involvement in the matter of the new hospital in Desenzano del Garda. Despite the announcement of a Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of the new facility, the committee expresses concern over the lack of participation from citizens and local administrators in the decision-making process. Committee members emphasize that the mayors have failed to represent the interests of their constituents, merely stating that decisions are up to the Lombardy Region.
In response to this situation, the committee has formally requested that the involved entities adhere to what is outlined in the Feasibility Study, highlighting the need for a planning document that commits all stakeholders. Additionally, public initiatives such as the “March of the Invisible” and sit-ins outside the offices of the Province and the Region are planned to further raise awareness about the importance of the Montecroce hospital and ensure an open discussion on healthcare projects in the area.
