Desenzano Expands Itc «Luigi Bazoli» with New Surveyor Diploma Program

The Itc «Luigi Bazoli» opens to surveyors. The expansion of the renowned school in Desenzano continues, which in the future will become less of a “technical institute for accounting” and more of a broad-reaching vocational training institute. The latest development is that, starting from the next school year, a five-year course will be instituted for the surveyor diploma, a type of school that has so far been absent from Desenzano: the possible alternatives were in Salò, Brescia, or Castiglione, locations not too far away, but still inconvenient for young people from the lower Garda area.

Registrations are already open, and all relevant information is available on the dedicated posters, which are already displayed outside and inside the premises on via Carducci. This is not just a hypothesis but a reality. After producing generations of accountants, the technical commercial institute had already expanded during the 1990s: first with a course for corporate technicians, then by “including” the Marco Polo professional institute for commerce and tourism (Ipc). Now, surveyors: the picture is complete.

Project and ongoing works

«The proposal – explains Emanuele Giustacchini, deputy mayor and councilor for public education of the Comune di Desenzano – originated from the principal, Professor Montanari: rightly, he highlighted the inconveniences faced by local students, forced to long commutes every morning to Brescia or Salò. So, we took the issue to heart, finding understanding from the Province, which is responsible for higher education.

For Bazoli and the city of Desenzano – concludes Giustacchini – a great achievement has been reached, and we hope that the proposal will be welcomed by a significant number of students». The space to grow the institute, after all, should not be lacking. On via Michelangelo, work is proceeding swiftly to build the new Bazoli campus, with the construction site active near the elementary schools.

The new building has been designed to house, in the future, both the classes of the Itc and the Ipc. «The state of the works – continues Councillor Giustacchini – is as planned: by the end of summer, the gymnasium will be ready, already nearly completed in structure. We do not exclude that, with the start of the next school year, the sports facility could already be in use by the local schools».

The rest will follow: once the gymnasium is finished, construction will begin on the main school building, including classrooms, laboratories, and so on, as well as a 400-seat auditorium, which can also be used for conferences and public meetings. If everything goes well, it will be ready within a year and a half.
