Desenzano Hospital: the Committee calls for transparency and citizen participation

Recently, the Committee “Let’s Keep the Hospital of Desenzano on Montecroce” submitted two formal complaints to the Prefect of Brescia, Andrea Polichetti, to report the omissions by ASST Garda and the Presidency of the Assembly of Mayors of the Garda Area 11 in managing the new hospital project. The Committee expressed concern over the lack of involvement from local administrations and citizens, emphasizing that a necessary planning document for signing the Memorandum of Understanding has never been drafted or discussed, thus violating the rules on administrative transparency.

Moreover, the Committee criticized the decision by the President of the Assembly of Mayors, Dr. Luisa Lavelli, to postpone a public assembly until November 2025, by which time strategic decisions will have already been made. This situation is perceived as a denial of genuine citizen participation in the decision-making process. Therefore, the Committee has requested the Prefect to verify the administrative compliance of these omissions and to ensure that citizens and local administrations are involved before decisions become irreversible.
