Desenzano Hosts Conference on Diplomacy and Communication Between Garda and Venice

A conference titled “Diplomacy and Communication between Garda and Venice” will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 5:00 PM in the Sala della Musa at Villa Brunati, Desenzano del Garda. The event, part of the Magnifica Patria 1426–2026 celebrations, will focus on the role of communication networks in shaping political and economic relations during the modern era, with particular emphasis on the Riviera courier service.

The event will feature institutional greetings from Culture Councillor Pietro Avanzi and Salò University President Andrea Crescini. Professor Claudio Ciociola, an emeritus professor at the University of Pisa and member of the Accademia della Crusca, will deliver the main lecture, followed by a presentation of Clemente Fedele’s book “Un lago per comunicare,” with a discussion led by Giovanni Pelizzari.
